Abarth 695 Biposto
The Abarth 695 Biposto is more than a hot hatch. It is based on the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione race car, offering a level of performance and handling beyond which the Abarth 595 offers. The name ‘Biposto’ means ‘two-seater’ in Italian, which tells you everything you need to know; the 595 Biposto is lighter and harder than the standard car, with road-legal polycarbonate racing windows and a carbon fibre front apron, and a monstrous Akraprovic exhaust. The rear seats have been stripped to reduce the kerb weight to 997kg dry, and with 190bhp and 250Nm of torque, the 1.4 T-JET engine, which gets a Garret GT 1446 turbo, offers blistering performance of 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. You can also spec your Abarth 695 Biposto with a state-of-the-art exposed linkage dog-ring gearbox, to create a true, proper race-inspired sense of occasion.
As standard, the Abarth 695 Biposto gets front and rear bumpers draped in carbon fibre, an enormous rear diffuser, 18-inch Oz alloys, wide arches and red Brembo brakes. It looks absolutely incredible.
The Abarth 695 Biposto is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a hard, stripped-out road car designed for the track. It makes up just 2 per cent of all Abarth sales, so should you get one, you’ll be in a very exclusive club.
The 695 Biposto’s 1.4 T-JET engine kicks out 190bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine offers serious acceleration, with 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds flat, and extremely strong in-gear acceleration for real-world driving.
The 695 Biposto gets a front and rear suspension with hydraulic height-adjustment and springs by Extreme Shox. It also gets an electronically controlled differential lock so you can put the 695’s power down.
